The ICRC Mission in Seoul seeks to fill the following position:
Communication Intern
The ICRC Seoul Mission’s main task is to familiarize the government, the military, decision-maker, civil society, and academia with the ICRC’s humanitarian work and emergency response around the world. The mission also aims to promote awareness and implementation of international humanitarian law, the legal framework that seeks to minimize human suffering caused by war.
Under direct supervision of the Communication Manager, the intern will work in Seoul, Republic of Korea and provide daily support in the Communication Department;
As the Communication Intern, s-he will be responsible to
- Work with the Communication Manager on digital communications strategy planning
- Streamline and manage ICRC Korean website and other social media accounts
- Pitch ideas for content creation and management for ICRC digital platforms
- Work with the Communication Manager on managing and updating publications and promotional items
- Daily media monitoring and support with other communication-related tasks
- Simple translations, when needed
Selection requirements and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in communications, media or other related fields
- Knowledge and experience in social media content creation and management and data analysis
- Excellent verbal and writing skills in English and Korean
- Interest and passion for international affairs and humanitarian work
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Highly organized and attentive to details
- Self-driven, with the ability to multitask
- Good team player, culturally sensitive and enjoys working in a diverse context
Internship duration:
The intern for this position is expected to work for six months with the possibility of a six-month extension upon performance evaluation.
